Oniyuri Province
Only recently settled by colonists from the Kiyoshi Empire, the wild frontier of Oniyuri is composed of scattered rural communities, autonomous city-states, and vast swathes of open land.
For those seeking a new life far and away from anything they've known, the budding province of Oniyuri seems an ideal destination. Across the ocean on the vast and unexplored continent of Yutakaya, a collection of fortified towns envelop the Oniyuri Peninsula in their grasp. As their hold on the peninsula becomes more secure the leaders of the colonies look toward the vast untapped forest on their border with thoughts of further expansion.
The larger settlements are fairly safe, but anyone living outside of these may have to contend with the local wildlife. Some of this can be quite hostile and nights are often deadly for anyone without strong walls to hide behind.
Demography and Population
The Oniyuri Province has a similar racial diversity to the rest of Kiyoshi Empire, with no notable majority among the common races.
The province has a population of only one hundred thousand, though it is increasing, and the vast majority of that is clustered along the coasts nearest the seven cities. This results in most of the Oniyuri Peninsula's sixty thousand square kilometer area being completely devoid of any signs of civilization.

Foreign Relations
Being the newest province of The Kiyoshi Empire, and the only place on Yutakaya currently settled by anyone from Londe puts the colony in a unique diplomatic situation. Being that Kiyoshi has been quite secretive about both their navigational charts to Yutakaya and their innovations in shipbuilding which make theirs the only ones likely to survive the voyage, the only significant contact the colonists have with the home continent is via semi-consistent ships from The Empire. From the capital of The Empire itself, Shizuoka, these ships take six to eight weeks to reach their destination, though that destination rarely deviates from the de facto capital city of the colonies, Nagano.
Infrastructure
In its current state, the infrastructure of Oniyuri is sparse. The only paved roads are within the largest cities, and then only for more important or wealthy areas. There are beaten paths between each city and it's neighbors, but the only well worn route across the peninsula is the Broken Iron Road which goes roughly along the border between Nagano and Minamoto.
The peninsula is protected from the dangers of the Yutakaya wilds to the east by several fortified towns, aside from to the southeast where the river protects a 20 mile stretch from the southernmost fortress to Minamoto. Every settlement has walls, regardless of size, as those which don't are quickly taken back by nature. Most defenses are made of timber, but some cities or more fortified towns have stone defenses.
