Winged Triumvirate
History
Ikarus stalked Yukio to Minamoto on the suspicion that he was possessed. He waited until the noble's guard was down to approach, and saw his opportunity when they arrived at one of the small towns within the area under the protection of Minamoto. Once Yukio was comfortable back in civilization, Ikarus confronted/ interrogated him in the middle of the night by jabbing him from the darkness of his inn room.
After a tense standoff with each demanding information of the other, Yukio decided to diffuse the situation. Being unreasonably reasonable considering he was speaking to someone who had broken into his room and threatened his life, Tomohiro Yukio introduced himself and explained his "possession" to the still unseen intruder.
Once Ikarus was satisfied that Yukio was not an immediate threat to himself or others, and that he was unlikely to loose control of the demon, Ikarus revealed and introduced himself. His task having been completed, Ikarus proposed that Yukio accompany and assist him on his next mission. He was surprised the noble was so immediately agreeable, but decided someone reasonably competent and unquestioning would indeed be a useful asset.
The next morning Yukio was met at the door by a furtive hooded figure, and he and Ikarus departed immediately hoping to make it to Minamoto that day. While the noble set a brisk pace along the road he would occasionally slow to chat with other travelers going the same way, mostly farmers making their way to the outlying farms with the occasional merchant or fellow traveler with the same destination as he. Whenever this seemed about to occur, Ikarus vanished, only to appear long after Yukio had gotten the message and left his discussion partners behind. They continued in this way through the day, making good time with few breaks, and arrived in Minamoto's Outer Districts well before sundown.
Though they had made it in time to enter the city itself before the gates would shut for the night, the two decided to wait until the next day to enter. Yukio found a reputable place to stay, more near the outskirts than the city center, and Ikarus disappeared again into the night.
Late the next morning Yukio woke to find Ikarus waiting in his room, the open window an obvious indication of the strange man's means of entry. The two discussed their plans in the city and Ikarus was just beginning to explain his mission when there was a loud knock at the door. Yukio called out a greeting and moved to open it as his companion vanished, beginning to suspect that the noble's trusting nature might be more trouble than it was worth.
