Platinum Church

When the Tevian people declared war on the dragons, horrible tortures were visited onto the Tevians and the Dragons alike. As the story goes, a great Knight in shining platinum armor visited the war-camps and taught the warriors of the Bloodroyal how to properly wage war and to do so with honor and nobility, and he introduced the notion of chivalry to the Empire.
After the war, the concept of chivalry spread quickly throughout the kingdoms. The concept was said to be the work of the Platinum Knight.
Originally The Platinum Knight was said to be the son of the Warrior and his worship was accepted. But as the Church learned more of the corruption within The Eight-Pointed Star, their own beliefs and Code wouldn’t allow them to remain quiet, much less participate in their corruption.
This resulted in the Platinum Church going to war with the Eight-Pointed Star. Despite a valiant effort on the Church’s part, they lost. The Church was declared heretics, the Platinum Knight was “revealed” to be a demon in disguise and many embarrassing details about high-ranking members of the Church were revealed.
Despite this label, many have found their way to the Church as it exists outside of the Empire. They have even found common cause with the dragonborn.

Structure

The Platinum Church is highly organized with Acolytes and Priests serving minor functions, while the Masters and Grandmasters oversee greater functions, such as holy quests and supporting their nation in times of War, with the Skybreakers overseeing the Church as a whole.

Tenets of Faith

The Platinum Church is founded on the Seven Truths. These ideals inform every aspect of someone’s life: from war to courting to daily interactions. The expectation is that members of the Church will adhere to these values.
Courage: More than bravado or bluster, one must have the courage of the heart necessary to undertake tasks which are difficult, tedious, or unglamorous, and to graciously accept the sacrifices involved.
Justice: One must hold themselves to the highest standard of behavior and knows that “fudging” on the little rules weakens the fabric of society for everyone.
Mercy: Words and attitudes can be painful weapons in the modern world, which is why one must exercise mercy in his or her dealings with others, creating a sense of peace and community, rather than engendering hostility and antagonism.
Generosity: Sharing what’s valuable in life means not just giving away material goods, but also time, attention, wisdom and energy — the things that create a strong, rich and diverse community.
Faith: In the code of chivalry, “faith” means trust and integrity, and one must always be faithful to his or her promises, no matter how big or small they may be.
Nobility: This word conveys the importance of always upholding one’s convictions, especially when no one else is watching.
Hope: More than just a safety net in times of tragedy, hope is present every day in one’s positive outlook and cheerful demeanor.
