Scale of the Witness

It is sometimes said that the great draconic seer offers no rewards, save for his tellings of fate. This is almost entirely true. Long ago, or perhaps far in the future, Rivvel'Saaval removed a single, rippling scale from his own body, offering it to anyone who could solve his riddle. The answer to this riddle, as it is recorded, even the dragon himself did not know. Yet, when a certain traveler came seeking this scale, and they heard the Seer's riddle, the traveler offered up an answer with little hesitation. Upon hearing it, Rivvel'Saaval knew it to be correct, and rewarded this traveler his scale.
The location of the scale is unknown currently, and it is likely it will never be found again. The scale granted the traveler the ability to traverse across the worlds, appearing at whatever time and place they chose, and in whatever world they chose. Every time the traveler was seen again, they seemed different, having been shifted by their movement through Chaos. Eventually, after many, many years, the traveler was never again recognized. Altered so much by the twistings of the worlds beyond, they were irrevocably changed.
