Hilgor the High Flying
Attack on the Stardiver
On one such ship, Hilgor demonstrated great potential of magical ability when he lifted the Stardiver1 from the sea during an attack by a massive Kraken. Not only was he able to raise the vessel from the waves, he also held it aloft for upwards of an hour until the Godsent gave up on trying to reach them. He saved the entire crew from destruction, and Captain Herlix rushed them back to the nearest mainland of Everia - for repairs, and for study of the promising young man.
The Everian Arcanists, to their credit, received the wonderous ability with calm and professionalism. After their initial study of Hilgor himself, they brought him onto the team of researchers studying the power of flight. Hilgor spent a good number of years with the research team, and was able to spearhead a new series of inventions, known as the Everian Airships.
A Pirate's Life
Hilgor eventually left the path of research, and returned to his days on the high seas. With the power given by his rank with the Arcanists, and his former standing with the Crescent Council as a reputable sailor, he re-entered the waves with considerable rank and respect from his fellow sailors. Still, he spent many years hopping from ship to ship again, slowly building a crew of fearsome sailors that became his final crew.
Hilgor spent the last years of his life as one of the most feared pirate captains under the protection of the Crescent Council. He pillages across the seas around Visctheria, and built quite a name for himself as Hilgor the High Flying. In times of great trial, you could see his ship, the inherited Stardiver, lift from the waves and begin to travel through the sky.
Hilgor's Treasure
Rumour had it that a great treasure was left behind by Hilgor in the form of pounds and pounds of gold coin, tucked away on a remote island somewhere in the Jade Sea. None ever discovered it, but the treasure grew larger each year as Hilgor's successors added to the pile. The Stardiver continued its journey across the waves, pirating all it could, and Hilgor's legacy carried on.
