Eyespawn
Horrid creatures, sometimes called ancient watchers, were large aberration of unkown origins. These large amalgamations of tentacles and teeth possesed one central eye, each containing powerful magic, although their bodies seemed to have much more, mixed into their own form. Powerful and intelligent, Eyespawns were among the greatest threats found on Tethys, and as some claim - outside of it, too.
Eyespawns were hideous creations, being essentialy a floating, cyclops-like eyes surrounded by tentacles which contained many smaller ones. The other main feature of Eyespawn anatomy was a massive, gaping maw, fitted mostly beneath the eye, but quite a few spiecements seemed to have it located elsewere. Because of these features, Eyespawn were sometimes reffered to as "Lidless Ones".
Because their entire body contained many eyes, Eyespawn had the capacity to see in all directions at once, making it nearly impossible to ambush them while also giving them an unusually high degree of perceptive Ability. Some scholars even speculated, that each of the Eyespawns posssesed an abillity to see into some part of timeline, the more ancient ones having the seen space quite widened, to the point of limited foresight. Because of all that, Eyespawns had the ability to perceive even in the most darkened environment, under conditions in which a human or similar creature would be render blind
Eyespawns were also capable of movement, in spite of their lack of wings or similar physical features, simply hovering in the air effortlessly. The effects of this flight resembled those of the wizards spell levitation.
Beyond common understanding, Eyespawn were quick to attack creatures which they found interesting to study, or anyone they deemed not "like themselves". Eyespawn, as a rule, were greedy and cruel, hungering for both knowledge and power over others. This was made all the more complicated since more than one form of Eyespawn existed, each beliving itself to be the pinnacle of bodily perfection and they viewed other Eyespawn who differed from this image in even the most minute details as loathsome enemies and inferiors.
Eyespawn minds were divided into seperate entities. Each of these entities though and acted on its own accord even though it was bound to the same body as the other parts of its mind. Neither one of the eyespawn's mind trusted the other, so they hid a lot from each other, creating a very paranoid relationship. Some of scholars claimed that the number of those minds were connected to numbers of eyes the creature possesed, although it was never truly understood. Some Eyespawn whose minds were not so "divided", or simply one of those parts dominated the others, so to speak, were still many entities within the Eyespawn, but neither hid anything from the other, making a less paranoid creature. However, the persona of a "sane eyespawn" was just as likely to be considered "insane" by any non-eyespawn. Because there were many entities within single eyespawn, that eyespawn should always be addressed by its full name when in conversation with them, or they would perceive it as speaking to only one of the entities.
