The city of Gent was quickly established after the The Great Repossesion as a military outpost to watch over The Schism . It's located on a rare elevation of land on the Nullarbor Plains which has allowed it to see for miles in any direction. The strategic need, and lingering fear caused many who fought in The Great Repossesion to call the place home, turning it into a bustling town in only a single generation.
After Kespia's supposed attack on Tyria at Deadham, called The First Conflict or The Abduction at Dedham, Jadifar II declared war on Kespia and quickly sieged the town and claimed it for himself.
