Depending on who you ask, Salim falls into one of two categories. They're either someone loving who only wishes to provide you with the limitless potential of the dream world Oneirica or they're devious and untrustworthy, the patron god of theives, assassins, and other undesirables. One thing is certain, Salim's popularity has dwindled significantly in the past 100 years. Likely due to the mythical battle between Jadifar and the forces of darkness before the founding of Tyria, though it's uncertain how much of that is pompous flair to lend credibility to the religious ruler of Tyria.
