Hunting Society
Such an innocuous name, when considering that the Garruw have a heavily meat based diet and are possessed of a wide array of tools on their own bodies, let alone what they might have created themselves. Every garruw hunts at some point. It is an honorable part of their society.
Assuming, of course, that they're not hunting Weinadi. After the creation of the Asayo-Djemndarra Accords, what had been an informal source of embarrassment became outright illegal, and rightly so. In the modern day, the average garruw views hunting and killing a weinadi as abhorrent and morally wrong.
And then there is the Hunting Society.
A Dark Secret
While its existence is known, the exact source of the organization is unknown or it would have been wiped out by now. Membership is punishable by imprisonment in Giridlozh Prison, or even possible execution. As might be expected, the society is joined by people who want to hunt weinadi. With the aim of eating, specifically, although this is more a manner of obfuscating their actions and less about the food, as over the years the weinadi have actually made themselves rather unpalatable via a number of cultural traditions. What remains is a difficult prey. To hunt a weinadi is to hunt the most difficult targets the garruw know, and it is understandable why some garruw would still want to test their skills against this. Understandable, but still reprehensible, especially since known Hunting Society deaths have usually been those weaker and less likely to be a challenging prey. Interesting how the evidence runs contrary to their own credo of supposedly honorable chase.
