The Glacialbane Tragedy

The glacianbane tragedy was a shorter conflict that started off slow and ended with an attack on the city of Valdon by an ancient Frost Wyrm.
It started off with the explorers delving deeper and deeper into the frozen wastelands to push monsters back, but by doing so they accidently angered the frost wyrm which they named Glarion. The result of these overextension was that Glarion as well as a host of monsters ended up attacking Valdon in it's early days.

A lot of lives were lost on both sides, plenty of the Knights of the Everfrost charges out to fend of the attacks, but most perished to the relentless attacks. Glarion was a extremely powerful creature and caused the Magmashield Bastions to break in some locations where he tried to get through the wall. To the current day, this is the conflict which cost the most amount of lives for the knights of Valdon.
The Cryoquake Maul was an artifact wielded by a great knight, and sadly got lost during this terrible conflict.
However the outcome of the glacialbane tragedy ended up with the knights managing to drive off Glarion, and the other monsters which had joined him in his rampage. There are still songs about this event, and people still tell tales of the horrible Glarion, mainly to kids to prevent them from being naughty. Ever since, the explorations grew more cautious and didn't overextend as much, Glarion hasn't been seen since and most people presume that he has passed away.
