Paper charms are items made from Trueply Paper that are imbued with a specific magical effect. These charms are typically small and portable, and are often worn as amulets or kept in pockets or pouches for easy access. Sometimes paper charms are stuck on an object with the use of resin or glue, in a similar fashion to a Mageseal with the major difference between these two items being that a paper charm loses its magic when its torn or destroyed, in contrast to mageseals which are usually activated when damaged or torn.
Enchanted Paper
Paper charms are created by
Enchanting trueply paper with a specific magical energy or effect. This can be done using a variety of techniques, including
Arcane Impartment and
Projected Intention. In some cases, the creation of these charms incorporate
Alchemical Transference or a form of
Runic Inscription. Somtimes,
Spell Stitching is used to embroider the paper with arcane designs and enchantments which has the added benefit of strengthening the rather fragile paper with
Spellthread.
Trueply paper charms are often used to provide very temporary effects, such as a burst of protection, luck, or increased strength or dexterity. They have also been used by some people instead of a spell scroll to cast or store spells, which has lead to some wizards in the world using a collection of paper charms as a substitute for their spellbook. Paper charms are very easy to use, versatile, and valued for their portability and convenience. They allow a person to access a wide range of magical effects on demand or passively protect themselves against an unexpected threat.
