The Chosen

The chosen are the creation of the Quori, evil spirits from the plane of dreams. They serve as vessels for the Quori to influence the material plane. Upon being possessed by a Quori, a chosen surrenders all control over its body to one of these spirits and won't remember anything that happened while possessed.
They are specifically bred for this purpose, a combination of Humans, Elves, any strong slave races on hand, or the most coveted of all: captured Kalashtar. They however almost never inherit the psychic capabilites of the Kalashtar, for the matron and patron spirits connected to the Kalashtar bloodlines they come from refuse to bond with this offspring.

Prolonged influence of the Quori can leave The Chosen pale, which means their skin colour can expose how much they have been influenced/possessed by the Quori. A Chosen's eye colour is often dark. Strong emotions can make them switch colour, ranging from red if they're very angry, a deep blue when experiencing a profound sense of peace, to yellow when they're very happy. When they are possessed however their irises disappear, creating a single flat colour in their eyes.
