The Eight Divines
The eight divines is a relatively young religion and the official state religion in the Kingdom of Aedeyne. Its followers often believe actively, erecting shrines and temples, attending mass and celebrating festivals. Holy scriptures tell that the eight aspects (the Father, the Mother, the Maiden, the Rider, the Smith, the Crone, the Warrior and the Hand) are all part on a single divine being whos name is secret and forbidden. All these aspects are worshipped separately depending on their domains. As such, the Father is worshipped during trials and the Smith is worshipped during harvests and ploughing seasons.
History
When refugees from south of the Crimson Sea fled north towards Skølmvar they brought with them their old beliefs and religion, mainly the Church of the Origin. When these settlers warred and eventually mixed with the native population who worshipped the Spirit Pantheon a curious religion emerged. This new pantheon combined the single divine entity with the polytheistic nature of the spirits into a pantheon of eight divine aspects of a single divine being.
