General Summary
After their experience on Mischief Mountain, the party enjoyed a night at Drakar's Hearth complete with song, dance, and a hearty meal. Anya met an otterkin friend. Aurora danced. Lleuwelyn put on a stellar musical performance.
Later, they saw the new fleeting star in the sky and heard rumors of supposed 'bad omens' it brings.
In the morning, the group met with Julissa Augusta, former imperial agent and de facto economics/informational/security lead at Drakar's Hearth. She told them of a potential imperial threat to the south that needs to be discreetly investigated. She warned that an imperial presence would further disrupt the livelihood of the furkin that live in Drakar's Hearth. The party agreed to infiltrate the camp under the guise of sellswords.
After a hike, they found the camp of about two dozen soldiers and met a seasoned merchant, a veteran soldier, and Petrus Andrei, the commander of the imperial detachment sent northward.
After meeting with Petrus, they agreed to help him recover scouts sent to find a new campsite that have not returned on time. Following a brief detour to be chased by giant boars, they find a cave where two of the three scouts met their untimely end. Aurora skillfully scouted the cave as a bat and found it was overrun by goblins. The party decided to return the surviving scout to the camp and have the imperial detachment secure the caves.
Grateful, Petrus offers the group a more permanent position as they move further northward. He tells them of the detachment's mission to secure a magical place of power for the The Sanguine Order, the order of magical users in the empire. The Order intends to exploit this source for the construction of magical items. They believe the power is associated with the ancient city-state of Trest.
Anya contacted Julissa who instructed the team to bring Petrus to Drakar's Hearth, where she may be able to persuade him to help their cause, implying a history between the two. The party agrees and convinces Petrus to resupply in Drakar's Hearth, who is unaware of Julissa's presence in the village.
With the imperial detachment in tow, the party returns for Drakar's Hearth.
