After narrowly surviving an encounter with ghoulish undead, the party took a short rest in a mysterious wine cellar before venturing forth. The group headed west into a study lit by magical blue light, where they found notihng but old tomes and dusty scrolls, which Aurora took one particularly interesting one.
Aurora revealed a hidden path behind a beastly statue, which the party took. Before long, the statue sprang to life! Fortunately, with a deft show of skill, Llewlyn quickly dispatched the living statue.
From there, the group found themselves in a wide hallway heading north, east, and south. A ghostly glow and a faint humming lit the end of the passage south. Seeing this, they went south.
The long hallway proved longer than they thought and an unnatural darkness crept over them. Soon, the shadows themselves lept from the walls and attacked the party. They ran and made it to an intricately constructed chamber with a around a stone circle inscribed with countless glowing runes. It was clear that this was the place of power they were tasked to find.
Before dealing with this place of power, Anya explored ahead to find a series of chambers behind heavy metal doors. Within one, she found a metal coffin with strange ancient writing on it.
Delaying no longer, the party turned their attention to the elemental font of power. The font called to Aurora, who approached and absorbed much of its essence, destroying the font in the process. She gained great power, but the surge caused an earthquake and soon the building began to crumble.
The party narrowly escaped being entombed in the building through a newly revealed passage leading deep underground. Inside, they found a blackstone fortress occupied by otherworldy shapes. However, this was no time to linger and the group left through a passage outside the city gates. They retreived their horses, Llewlyn looted an ancient tailor's shop, and they took their leave.
Returning to Drakar's Hearth, they received their pay, and gratitude for offering a former imperial officer a better life.
