Da’Han is the land of the dead, governed by the draylian goddess of death, D’Mai. Unlike conventional afterlives, it is not situated beneath the living world but exists on the same plane. This realm is depicted as an island surrounded by boundless seas, with five rivers dividing it into distinct sections. Each river symbolizes one of the five stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance.
Journeying to Da’Han is straightforward: souls board the Ship of Embers, guided by the goddess of the dead, Da’Vina. However, to gain passage, travelers must offer a single spider lily to Da’Vina.
The Oceans of Da'Han
The oceans of Da'Han surround the island and are mostly filled with the souls of sea creatures that have long passed. The oceans stretch out for as far as the eye can see and are so vast that they might as well just be endless. The oceans are made up of the tears of the dead and their everlasting grief as this is the ocean that they cross to reach D'mai's domain when they die.
The Forests of Da'Han
The Forests of Da’Han, otherwise known as the Enchanted Forests or the Forest of Acceptance, is a serene and captivating realm filled with Mori trees and flowers of death. Here dead land animals find a home among the spirits who live here. D'Mai, the goddess of death, is a familiar presence, often seen strolling through the forest, offering gentle greetings to the inhabitants. The forests of Da’Han serve as a sanctuary for those who lived a life of chaos and longed for rest. To the right of this forest on the other side of the D'Hyat River, also known as the Veki River or the River of Acceptance, is the Fields of Punishments. While on the left side of the forest across the D’Lan river, also known as the river of depression, is the Frozen Tundra.
The Fields of Punishment
The Fields of Punishment is the smallest part of Da’Han, reserved for those who have committed heinous acts of evil and terror during their lives. It serves as a place of atonement, where souls must reckon with the consequences of their actions for eternity. Contrary to popular belief, not all who find themselves here are condemned to eternal suffering. For those who have committed lesser evils or have served their penance, there is the possibility of redemption. Through the cleansing waters of the River of Acceptance, they may be reborn into new lives, with the hope of eventually finding peace in the tranquil forest or the bustling city.
The fields of this region are not solely about punishment, but rather about fostering growth and transformation. It is a transition sector from the wastelands of anger to the lush forests of acceptance. Where is why to the left of the fields on the other side of the D'Htya River, also known as the Veki River or the River of Acceptance, is the Enchanted Forests. While on the right side of the fields on the other side of D’Mor River, also known as the river of anger and dread, is the Wastelands.
The Wastelands
The Wasteland is an empty land of fire, where angered spirits rest. The wastelands are a harsh and unforgiving landscape. Raging wildfires consume the land, fueled by the anger and resentment of souls who dwell here. The air crackles with heat and fury, and the ground is scorched black. On the left side of the Wastelands just across the D’Mor river is the Fields of Punishment. While on the right side of the Wastelands on the other side of the D’Lina River, also known as the Denial river, is the Mirage Desert.
The Mirage Desert
The Mirage Desert is a vast expanse of barren land characterized by scorching heat, shifting sands, and endless dunes. However to all souls who reside here it looks like a lush oasis filled with fruit and foods of the wildest imagination. On the left side of Mirage Desert just on the other side of the D’Lina River, also known as Denial River, is the Wastelands while on the right side of Mirage on the other side of D’Naka River, also known as the river of bargaining is the Twilight Marsh.
The Twilight Marsh
A mist-shrouded realm where murky waters and tangled marshlands stretch into the horizon. Souls caught in the grip of bargaining and desperation find themselves wandering through this eerie landscape, searching for ways to negotiate with fate. Strange lights flicker in the distance, tempting souls with false promises and illusions of control. Yet, amid the murky depths, there are glimpses of clarity and understanding, where souls can come to terms with their desires and let go of their futile bargaining. One the left side of the Twilight Marsh just across D’Nake, also known as the river of bargaining is the Mirage Desert. While on the right side of the twilight marsh across the frozen river of D’Lan, also known as the river of depression, is the Frozen Tundra.
The Frozen Tundra
An icy realm shrouded in eternal winter, where snow-covered plains stretch as far as the eye can see. Souls who reside here do nothing but wail in despair as the ice chill their very soul. The Frozen Tundra is where the entrance of Da’Han lies for all of the dead. Here Da’Vina docks her ship and lets the souls be guided to their final resting places. On the left side of the Frozen Tundra just across D’Lan River, also known as the river of depression, is the Twilight Marsh while on the right side of the Frozen Tundra just arcos the D’Hyat River, also known as the Veki River or the River of Acceptance, is the Enchanted Forest.
The City of Da'Han
The city of Da’Han is the largest part of the realm, wrapping itself around D’Mai’s palace located directly in the center of Da’Han. This city is where most spirits end up and is the most like the living plane.
D'Mai Palace
Located in the center of Da'Han is the Palace of D'Mai where the goddess of death herself resides. This is also where those who have done extraordinarily good things and died a warrior's death live as part of her royal guard and court in the halls of Eiyū. All of the rivers run through D'Mai's palace and all of Da'Han can be seen from its large, looming towers.
