Mauk-lok-ur

Sluk: Eaters of Corpse Meat

The Mauk-Lok-Ur are believed to be an Orc warclan that was active during the Taking. Old references and survivor accounts describe their clan symbol, a red carrion bird on a field of black with cross-hatches that are sometimes shown as crossed bones. They are described as being involved in the endless sieges of the Over-Kingdom of Aendor but never passed south into the Survivorlands.

Involvements

In a buried and abandoned complex, in the central western region of the Sallow Hills, the heroes came across an outpost of Orcs and Orogs that appeared to have been in place for some time. The warband had been surviving on the flesh of goblin and Named Races. The heroes discovered an abattoir’s worth of bones and corpses stripped of their flesh from past meals. At some point, the warband had captured an Ogre which was being used for entertainment. The heroes wiped out the outpost as well as two well-armed Orogs. A surprise poisoning of Aeda via dart and an unknown attacker made it plausible that the leader of the warband managed to avoid capture.

The issue raised concern amongst Aeda Virenni and Bailiff Essara as the Mauk-lok-ur were never known to have ventured south in times past. And certainly not in force such as an outpost like this suggested...
