Lumin Ray

The lumin ray is a small device that can be attached to a gauntlet or a belt. It is a great tool when fighting against dark and insectoid arcana casters as they tend to cause the decay of the environment through a variety of means. The lumin ray can also act as a semi-healer device when someone has been infected with a toxin that causes necrosis, usually from an insect, snake, or insectoid caster.

Design

The device is a small square box that can be worn and with a press of a button on its left side, it creates a pinkish shield around the user, protecting them from decay. The box itself is made out of dark steel and has a utility socket that allows the wearer to insert a red-violet astrskite crystal into it. On the back of it is a magnetic clip that attaches itself to a belt or gauntlet made of magnetic metal.

Access / Availability

The device is issued to people who are part of a military associated with the Phantasm Terminal Federation, the Federation Alliance, and the Galactic Alliance.   However, people can make a version of the device at home if they have the knowledge of electronic building as well as the knowledge of where to buy the technology, which is often in places such as the black market. Yet, there are a few places that sell knockoff versions of the technology.
Social Impact
The device quickly gained popularity after a blight overtook a town on Lliri. A decaying sickness swept through the town, destroying homes and infecting people with a disease that caused necrosis at a rapid rate. Within days, over half the town was killed. Had it not been for Stephen Amos Ainsworth crafting a makeshift box out of an old holographic shield for warriors and taking a red-violet astrskite crystal and attaching it to the device. When Stephen tested the device on a dying farmer, he was amazed at how the necrosis was suppressed and told someone to hold the device to the farmer while he made more devices to help combat the disease until help could arrive.
