Veiled Wildfire

There have been local legends about such a powerful entity of wildfire traveling throughout the Citrune Belt that most do not believe it exists as its travel has been unpredictable and invisible to the naked eye. Those who have experienced such a deadly form of fire have refused to ever return to Citrune Belt else they come across its wrath again. This power is known as the veiled wildfire, hidden from most and costly to face.
I swear! It was like an invisible flame. The metal hull of the ship began to burn a charred black before melting. Within minutes, the entire ship was dead! DEAD, I tell you! I barely escaped with my life. No way will I return to that death trap of a belt!
— a survivor of the wildfire

Manifestation

While invisible to the naked eye, it can be perceived by a highly skilled flame arcana caster, who often describe the flames as being the color of black and purple, sometimes reminding them of chaos arcana, and spanning many miles of open space. The flames are said to act similar to that of a sentient creature that moves with grace and agility, avoiding the asteroids as if it can see them. This is unnerving enough for travelers as it means the wildfire is smart enough to plan a possible ambush against them.   It likes to target various individuals aboard ships, seeming drawn to those with forest or earth arcana. However, there have been cases where the wildfire has attacked air casters and insectoid species, like the zharzor and the cek'zuq, indicating its level of intent and strategic plans. There have been other reports of ships being attacked and the crew left to die without many injuries as the wildfire craved only the fuel in the ship's tanks.

Localization

The only place to locate the veiled wildfire is within the Citrune Belt since it can pop up anywhere at any time. Rarely does the wildfire head toward the dwarf planets located within the belt, seeming to wait for ships passing by to strike.
