Baffleflu - Bafflecrud - The Crud
Baffleflu is a poison effect that can be contracted through the breaking or destruction of metals associated with creations made or designed by Zook Bafflestone. The poison is not easily contracted and any rolls should be considered moderate. For those that contract Baffleflu, they should be considered poisoned and take moderate damage over time until cured. Subsequent opportunities to catch Baffleflu should come with higher rolls. Players cured of Baffleflu rest their difficulty to base.
For example, in D&D 5e the first check would be a CON check of 12. Failure would make the second check a 15, the third an 18, the fourth a 21, and so on.
The company Stone Incorporated, founded by the Illustrious Zook Bafflestone, has a long and storied history among for-profit endeavors within Bafflestone's home plane. But as with all companies focused on profit and fame more so than the health of the workers who create their products, there is once again a sad tale of woe for the rank and file employees.
Shortly after the founding of the first mass-production facility for minor artificery items, a handful of employees began complaining of issues with their breathing during and after work shifts. The company, as well as Bafflestone himself, wrote off the symptoms as by-products of overworked employees and substandard fitness in the workforce. Immediate changes were made to the way the product lines were staffed giving line workers more break times as well as instituting a morning calisthenics program. Stone incorporated and Zook Bafflestone was hailed again as innovators and savors of the common worker even as cases continued to spread through the factory.
Months passed and the severity of individual cases began to worsen. Recovered workers returned to the factory only to succumb to more severe symptoms. Eventually, and before any further innovations could be implemented, seven workers fell to their ailments.
Stone Incorporated immediately shut the factory down for a full investigation of the areas associated with the fallen employees. After two weeks, new prevention and care methodologies were instituted on the shop floor. All workers in affected areas of the factory were required to wear a new Bafflestone creation called the Baffle-Breather which fully covered the head of the worker and filtered all air before it could be inhaled.
No specific cause was ever identified for the Baffleflu, but over time small outbreaks would pop up from time to time in disparate locations throughout the regions where Stone Incorporated products were sold.

Treatment
Baffleflu should be treated as any inhaled poison.
