Oath of Destruction, Paladin

Along with the other sources listed in the Credits, this subclass took heavy inspiration from the Destruction Domain Cleric presented in Sandy Petersen's Cthulu Mythos supplement, so much so that I hesitate to consider this an original work, and instead, a Paladin variant of the Cleric subclass presented in the supplement. Credits to him and his team.
Paladins who’ve taken the Oath of Destruction have devoted themselves to the absolute obliteration of anything and everything that bars their path, be it man, monster, or even society itself. For these warriors, might is right and the surest way to ensure a victory is the complete and utter annihilation of the opposition.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Retributive Shattering

As an action, you can present your holy symbol and use your Channel Divinity to weaken weapons, such that they are destroyed all the quicker. For 1 minute while you concentrate on this effect, when you are damaged by a nonmagical weapon, you can invoke your deity’s wrath as a reaction if you have your holy symbol displayed. After dealing damage, the creature wielding the weapon must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative −2 penalty to damage rolls. On a successful save, the weapon takes no penalty. If this penalty drops to −6, the weapon is destroyed. This penalty can be removed if the mending spell or similar magic is cast on the affected weapon.

Armor Breaker

As an action, you can present your holy symbol and infuse your weapon attacks with potent destructive energies. For 1 minute while you concentrate on this effect, when you miss a creature wearing armor with an attack, you can invoke your deity’s wrath by holding forth your holy symbol as a bonus action on the same turn. The creature wearing the armor must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or the armor takes a permanent and cumulative –1 penalty to the Armor Class it offers. If the armor’s AC drops to 10, the armor is destroyed. This penalty can be removed if the mending spell or similar magic is cast on the affected weapon.

Aura of Destruction

Starting at 7th level, you can emit and channel destructive energies around yourself in an aura with a radius of 10-feet. While within this aura, once per turn when you or an allied creature within 10-feet of you hits a creature or object with a weapon or spell attack, they can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d6 force damage to the target. The damage dealt by this attack cannot be reduced or prevented in any way. At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet and the extra damage increases to 2d6.

Unstoppable Annihilation

Starting at 15th level, you cannot be knocked prone or grappled, and your movement cannot be magically altered unless you consent.

Obliterating Dreadnought

At 20th level, you can use your action to become an unstoppable force of nature, decimating anything and everything in your path and gaining the following benefits for one minute.
  • Whenever you would be subjected to a spell or other magical effect that allows you to make a saving throw for half damage or a partial effect, you take no damage and are completely unaffected on a successful save.
  • When you score a critical hit on a creature wielding at least one weapon or wearing armor, you can choose to destroy one of the weapons it is wielding or the armor it is wearing.
  • Whenever you cast a evocation paladin spell that has a casting time of 1 action, you can cast it using your bonus action instead.
This effect ends early if you are incapacitated or die. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Tenets of Destruction

Paladins of this Oath are not necessarily evil. For example, a Paladin of this Oath may seek to destroy an urban factory responsible for emitting toxic waste that is polluting the surrounding area. However, the aftereffects of such an endeavour are of little concern to them. Their hardline and extremist ideals are more appealing to those who seek to lose themselves in wanton violence.

Unyielding

My qualms are secondary to my immediate goals. Ensuring results is what matters most.

Cut through Diplomacy

Eloquence and sophistry are meaningless pitfalls that rarely serve any purpose.

Obliterate the Opposition

The most surefire way to protect the things I care about is to utterly destroy that which threatens their peace.
