The Dynasty Blade

One of the two imperial relics of the Dynasty Kings, alongside the oft reforged Imperial Diadem, the Dynasty Blade is a famous glassblade, the first of its kind, forged by the great craftsman Nyphos o Chosis and presented to the fourth Dynasty King, Apheron. When not being wielded in battle by future monarchs, it was kept on display in the Old Palace and protected by the Orcarous Guard.

Appearance

Like all glassblades, the sword of the Dynasty Blade itself is black and glossy with a faint emerald color along the marbling of its surface. It's hilt is made of dark silver, inscribed with elegant engravings resembling flames, and the pommel is inlaid with a gemstone of Pyric Glass.

Significance

While perhaps less iconic than the other major relic of the Dynasty Kings, the Imperial Diadem, the Dynasty Blade is no less legendary. First wielded by Apheron, to whom it was gifted, the weapon was passed to every monarch following him to be wielded by them on the field of battle. Yet, while all Dynasty Kings had a right to the Dynasty Blade, not all were swordsmen and not all were trained properly as Fire Warriors and thus the weapon was frequently went without use. Nevertheless, the image of the burning black blade, wielded by Thripia's rulers, is an enduring symbol representing righteousness, superiority and justice.
