Idorûn

The mighty Idorûn was born among the latter-generation of celestial life- the Ebal’eshan who were held shamefully subordinate to the elder Alor’eshan. He dwelled within the Void alongside the many during Olûn, biding his time in silent contemption. Who was the creator in truth and what was the purpose of existence? He asked these fundamental questions and others, teasing at the boundaries of knowledge and reason while other Eshan bickered and feuded. Foremost among them were Aebaster and Atûn, the eldest and youngest of their generation and representatives of competing fonts of authority. The former was paragon of titled rule and deference, wherein power and prestige is derived from position within a hierarchy. He himself was eldest, of course, and thus asserted his natural dominance over the other Eshan. Atûn represented something utterly different- authority derived from cunning and skill. For him, manners of hierarchy were subordinate to ability, for without ability to hierarchy proves useless. Back and forth the two competed, drawing other Eshan into their celestial game. Idorûn was wiser than most and perceived that his success and acknowledgement rested with the success of Atûn and his celestiarchy of   Eshan capable of consciously lording over the Void. It was for this reason that he associated closely with the youngest Alor’eshan and heeded his lessons and words.   When the First Feud erupted millenia thereafter, Idorûn was compelled to take a side. This was a matter of great dismay for him. Unlike Ácolitus and his supporters, Idorûn supported the idea of mortal life created and answerable to the Eshan, but Atûn took the contrary side unexpectedly. Carefully weighing the choices, Idorûn could neither bring himself to support Aebaster or remain foolishly neutral. In the end, he was compelled to take the plunge alongside his Eshanic ally and immortal creator.   As the dust settled upon Zaregallis and mangled bodies were counted, Idorûn remained among the living.
