The Eshanic Tongue
Language is not a phenomenon original to mortality. The Eshan have communicated with one another through sounds and signs for untold millenia. Unlike mortals, the speech of the Eshan is not regulated by a single lexicon or framework. It is nebulous and confusing, meant to communicate meaning as swiftly and effectively as possible between hundreds of beings. They called it --.
The Alor’eshan of Qadal abandoned the older iterations of --. Instead, they devised their own systems of language which were derived from but separate to --, which were then imparted upon mortals and further evolved. Back in Voryndal, the Eshan were true to their roots, and maintained – as it was known to them. Mortals thereafter transformed it according to their desires. This is the reason that many names, locations, and tongues in Voryndal share some similar qualities, which might otherwise being confusing for an outside observer.
