The Voryndal Demeanor

Whereas mortals in Qadal are accustomed to governing their own affairs, the crafted peoples of Voryndal are eternally subjected to the capricious whims of the competing deities. Two distinct mentalities emerged regarding the purpose and fitting treatment for mortals. For the Alor’eshan and their heirs in Qadal, the mortal world was reflective of themselves as manifested in physical form. It was therefore meant to be preserved and respected in what manners the Eshan would believe worthy for themselves. This was consistent in periods of peace and war. The Ebal’eshan were different, for life is generally less valuable in that hemisphere of the world. Eshan are numerous and thus mortals are more than numerous. Life and death mean nothing while the immortal competition for dominance and survival matters more than anything else. Culture, art, and civilization are subordinate to these ends.
