Zelai

Zelai was the first lover of Aebaster, defying the will of Ácolitus which barred unions between the Eshan. They remained together for a time, centuries in mortal time. Together they bore an Eshanic child, naming her Hirriat, and resolved to keep her existence hidden from Ácolitus. In support of their spawn, the pair were compelled to make themselves recluse. Zelai endured the burden well, but their relationship was not to last. Aebaster, proud and self-possessed, grew disenchanted with Zelai’s companionship. He
abandoned her and turned toward Mesian. She, unlike the Ebal’eshan, was potent and powerful, thus attractive in those ways to the ambitious Aebaster.
In time, the insatiable Aebaster removed himself from Mesian and returned to Zelai’s dwelling place.
Fellow Ebal’eshan felt sympathy for Zelai’s plight. They shrouded her with their powers and did not reveal her whereabouts to any who asked.
Zelai schemed her revenge and sought to claim the deprived birthright of her daughters.
The final battle came in 3469, when the Yaalari and Zelai came to vicious blows.
