Mainen Traynor

Mainen Traynor, a half-elf from Silverstand, is the current Grand Druid of the Old Faith.
Under his leadership the Faith has taken a back seat in the affairs of the modern, civilised world. Despite the entreaties of the Cerulean Emperor, Mainen refuses to pledge his Circles to the Imperial cause. This has lead to a sour relationship with the current Emperor, but Mainen justifies it as a long-term policy of the Old Faith - they refused to join in the The Great Pelagic War  back in the day too.
This withdrawal does not mean that the Grand Druid and his allies have been idle however. They continue to research and fight back against those who would damage the natural order of things, in their own way.
As far as it is known he has no children or heirs. The time must soon come when he must appoint a successor.

Appearance and Mannerisms

Despite his advanced age, Mainen is a hearty and virile person, who still loves nothing more than taking a few days to himself and disappearing into the woods. His hair is shoulder length, and silver-white in colour, with two long braids at the front wrapped in silk the colour of blood.
He wears relatively plain green leather armour covered in feathers and scales, looking for all the world like any other old druid. The only sign of his position is his staff of office, a most holy item that was cut from one of the first trees near the centre of the Fearwyd Weald.
The old half-elf strides confidently, with the grace of a dancer. There is no sign of old age in his movements, just in the lines of his face and in his golden eyes.
A deep scar runs around his right eyesocket, a reminder of a time many years prior, when he was captured by orcs who tried to gouge it out. It did not end well for the orcs.
Mainen has little time for pomp and circumstance. Though he still speaks reverently of the natural world, the affairs of politicians and cities bore him.

Notable Achievements

Before becoming the Grand Druid, Traynor was once the Great Druid of the Wooded West, and resided in the Darwood. Whilst in that position he helped to negotiate the Wild Flame Pact between the towns of Burle and Silverstand.
