Ballad of the Pumpernickel
The tides were strong, the rain did pour;
The lightning struck and the thunder roared.
The fishing line was thrown offboard;
And the captain readied his sword!
Oh, they were far from shore!
Oh, the captain would settle the score!
Oh, the ship got sore;
But their captain screamed nevermore!
The devil was giant, the devil was fierce;
The spells and bullets barely pierced.
The devil did thrash and the ship got bashed.
The captain fell right under!
Oh, they were far from shore!
Oh, the captain would settle the score!
Oh, the ship was tore;
But their captain screamed nevermore!
The captain sank, his life was gone;
The day grew dim, but the fight dragged on!
The captain's ghostly ship had dawned;
They would defeat that devil spawn!
Oh, they were far from shore!
Oh, the dead crew would settle their score!
Oh, the ship was ready for more;
And the crew screamed nevermore!
The time had come, the bell was rung;
The tide grew and the devil was flung!
When the spawn died the crew had sung:
This nightmare was done!
Oh, they were far from shore!
Oh, the captain and crew had settled their score!
Oh, the ship was needing for more;
So their captain screamed forevermore!
