Holy District
Background:
The Holy District is full of skilled laborers that not only toil in the fields and mines, but able to craft with the materials that the Earth bestows to them. The citizens of this district thank their Lord Jesus Christ for their bounty and regularly attend service at the cathedral towering in the center of the city. The animal market found in this district is filled with varying beasts that are not found anywhere else in the city. The people here are hearty and faithful, the city of Avar mainly follows Christ, living by his teachings and has been worshipped since Avar's founding.
Description:
The Holy District is centered around the Church of Avar and is one of the largest structures within the city. The church currently houses the less fortunate who have lost their homes in the surrounding districts. The streets are full of carts making their way to the trade depot in the Economic district trying to avoid tents and others who could not seek refuge within the church. Other notable features within the district are the Drunken Dryad and the Animal Market.
Outside the walls are home to many fields and livestock pens that feed the city. Further across the river is where the harbor is located that deals in international trade and mainly goes directly to the trade depot after being checked by City Watch officials stationed at the wall.
