Dread Pirates

Current Status

Not much is known other than they seem to be a bunch of undead pirates controlled by River Warden, and not the Forsaken or Scourge kind, but pirates intentionally brought back by something. They are extremely large and unstoppable. Best to be avoided.

History

The Dread Pirates are an enigmatic group of undead pirates that seem to have a connection to the River of Souls, and are controlled by the River Warden. Not much is known about their origins or how they came to be, but it is believed that they are intentionally brought back to life by some sort of dark magic.
Encountering them can be a terrifying experience, as they are known to attack all living beings without hesitation. They seem to be able to travel across the waters of Azeroth with ease, and have been spotted in various locations throughout the world.
The first known encounter with the Dread Pirates was during the interrogation of several members of Siren's Raiders, who began singing before the appearance of their ship, The Black Maiden, in the year 35. Later, during the search for answers regarding the Black Bandanna at Twins Rests, The Black Maiden appeared again. However, the destruction of an artifact found on the site caused the ship and its boarded crew to disappear, leaving only the captain and crew members washed ashore, re-dead.
During an attempt to parley with the Reckless Crew, the Dread Pirates were also encountered in a battle against the Black Bandanna in May of the year 36. The true extent of their power and the extent of their control by the River Warden remains a mystery, but their fear-inducing presence has made them a topic of speculation and fear among sailors and pirates alike.
