The Corvan Empire

Intro

The Corvan Empire is the most powerful empire in the history of the Bloodstained Coast. It is located in the southern part of the coast and boasts both a thriving economy and a strong, well-trained army with talented commanders. It has expanded mostly through the conquest of foreign countries, which were then turned into provinces of the Empire. In the Northern Kingdoms, the Empire is portrayed as an overarching antagonist, with many free people of the North expressing hatred towards it with passion.

Structure

The Emperor of Corvan is determined by royal lineage. The provinces are ruled by either stewards or kings (in cases in which a king willingly surrenders, he retains his throne but is subject to the Emperor or just a vassal). The empire has expanded throughout the years, conquering new lands and going as far to the north borders ofVeilan.

Demography and Population

8.3 million (approximate) The majority of the population are humans with significant minorities of wood elves and a small minority of halflings and dwarves. The capital city of Corvan houses the biggest population, approximately 44 thousand people. The second largest city in the empire is the port city of Flade holding around 20 thousand people.

Military

The Empire has around 500 thousand active military personnel having the largest army in the Bloodstained Coast. The army's operations are backed by Imperial Military Intelligence. Rivalled only by Kirithian Secret Service, the institution is able to gather information and sow dissent far beyond the frontlines. The Empires army contains a large number of infantry, a large naval force, and heavy cavalry. They also have Inquisitors provided by the Church of the Eternal Flame.

Views on Magic

The Corvan Empire conforms to the beliefs of the Eternal Flame, and established laws to execute mages and magic creatures. The Corvan Empire believe magic to be a destructive force upon the world and highly dangerous; for this reason all magic, are outlawed within the empire , and powerful are mages confined to prisons called Bastilles that negate their magic
