Seeded

The term "Seeded" is slang in Largitas, primarily associated with the followers of the Cult of the Bloom. It refers to someone who is believed to be under the influence or control of the Bloom, either metaphorically or literally. In the context of the Cult, being "Seeded" can indicate a person who has been "chosen" by the Bloom for a higher purpose or transformation, often seen as a positive and sacred state. However, outside of the Cult, it carries a much more negative connotation, implying corruption, contamination, or even madness due to exposure to the Bloom.

Usage in Society:

Among the Cult of the Bloom, calling someone "Seeded" is often seen as a mark of honor, suggesting that the individual has a deep connection with the Bloom's power and mysteries. For example, a cult member might say, "He is Seeded; the Bloom has plans for him," indicating that the person is seen as special or destined for greatness within the Cult.   Conversely, in mainstream Largitas society, the term is used pejoratively. It can describe individuals who have been exposed to the Bloom and are perceived as dangerous or untrustworthy. For instance, someone might say, "Don't trust her; she's Seeded," implying that the person has been tainted by the Bloom's influence and may pose a threat.

Cultural Significance:

The dual meaning of "Seeded" highlights the cultural and religious divides within Largitas, especially between the Cult of the Bloom and the general population. It underscores the fear and fascination with the Bloom's power and the differing views on its impact on individuals. The term also reflects the broader societal anxieties about contamination and the unknown, serving as a shorthand for the complex interplay of belief, stigma, and reverence that the Bloom inspires.
