Giant

Overview

Giants are massive humanoid creatures whose size and abilities vary depending on their type. Although their ancestors were believed to be immortal, the lifespan of giants has decreased with each generation. Giants are among the oldest races on the continent, having been present since the appearance of the first dragons. They typically reside far from human civilizations, inhabiting remote and often extreme environments such as high mountains or deep underground.

Types of Giants

Cloud Giants

Known for their intelligence and cunning, cloud giants prioritize the accumulation of wealth and power. They live high above the clouds, often in floating castles or mountain peaks shrouded in mist.

Fire Giants

Militaristic and skilled blacksmiths, fire giants dwell beneath the earth, frequently near volcanoes. Their societies are structured around warfare and craftsmanship.

Fog Giants

Descended from cloud giants, fog giants are stealthy and elusive. They prefer to remain hidden and often live in misty or fog-covered regions.

Frost Giants

Inhabiting frozen areas, frost giants are known for their raiding prowess. They often target nearby settlements, taking what they need to survive in their harsh environments.

Hill Giants

Selfish and crude, hill giants reside in hilly regions. They are notorious for their gluttony and simple-mindedness.

Mountain Giants

A particularly strong and cruel type of giant descended from hill giants, mountain giants live in high mountainous areas. They are known for their brute strength and vicious nature.

Stone Giants

Reclusive and artistic, stone giants live in deep caves and mountainous regions. They are generally peaceful but can become dangerous when provoked.

Storm Giants

The largest type of giant, storm giants dwell in a variety of environments, including mountains, enchanted cloud islands, and underwater. They are wise and powerful, often revered or feared by other giants.

Giant Kin

In addition to full giants, there are also giant kin—races with some giant blood. These include:

-Firbolgs

Firbolgs are known for their quest for knowledge, often accumulating vast amounts of information and lore. They are generally peaceful and are seen as wise scholars within their communities.

- Ogres

Larger and more brutish than humans, ogres have giant ancestry. They are typically less intelligent and more aggressive than other giant kin.

-Half-Giant.

Descended from giants, half-giants are much smaller than their giant ancestors but still taller than the average humanoid. They possess a mix of giant and non-giant traits, often leading to a unique blend of strength and versatility.
