Planar gate

Overview

The Planar Gates are ancient constructs built by the Kang-Zao civilization to facilitate mass planar travel. These gates were designed to connect different planes of existence, enabling the transfer of people and resources across the multiverse.

History

1000 Age of Ancients

The Planar Gates are constructed by the Kang-Zao, a powerful and technologically advanced civilization. These gates are considered one of their greatest achievements, allowing for seamless travel between planes.

3025 Age of Ancients

The Second Convergence  occurs, causing the protective wards placed by the Kang-Zao on the Planar Gates to disappear. This event unleashes the destructive power of the other planes, leading to chaos and widespread devastation as beings and energies from various planes spill into the material world. This plunges the world into the Empyrionic War.

497 Age of Darkness

In an attempt to contain the damage, the remaining gates are severed by the Sheen, cutting off access to the other planes. The only gate left functional is the one located at Quel'Lutaan , which remains a focal point of planar activity for the Fey kingdom.

223 Age of Light

The gate at Quel'Luttan is finally severed following the city's destruction. This event marks the end of the era of mass planar travel and the isolation of the material plane from other realms.

Significance

The Planar Gates were not only a marvel of Kang-Zao engineering but also a crucial component in the interconnectedness of the planes. Their construction, use, and eventual severing had profound effects on the history and development of the world.

Legacy

The remnants of the Planar Gates still stand as a testament to the ingenuity and ambition of the Zang-Zao. While they no longer function, they continue to be a subject of study for scholars and a source of legend and mystery. The events surrounding the gates, particularly the Second Convergence and the destruction of Quel'Luttan, are pivotal moments in the history of the world, shaping its current state and the understanding of planar interactions.
