Neter
Neter is a deadly world filled with necrotic energies, where wandering alone is a very bad idea and safety is only found within sanctified areas.
The source of this undeath is a dark necropolis; a long destroyed Human population that once inhabited the world and was destroyed during The War of Burning Skies. The mass death that occurred during this war stains the world to this day.
If a person dies on this world and their corpse is not sanctified there is no question; that corpse will surely rise as an undead.
In some hidden corners of this world, ancient undead monstrosities and death-elementals sleep and should not be disturbed.
There is sparse vegetation, the necrotic energies smothering most forms of life.
The surface of this world is seemingly uninhabitable. Luckily its inhabitants don't care too much about the surface.
The area around these fortress-cities is blesses by the priests of this civilization to keep the death-spirits away. Their fungal farms, their homes and even some of their trade-routes are protected by enchantments and blessings. Most of the citizenry of Neter would not much notice that they even live in a death-world were it not for the occasional priest going around renewing the blessings.
In order to protect its inhabitants this world is significantly reinforced; its armies are well-equipped and its defenses are strong. An invading force would throw themselves against the gates of the Fortress-cities until their either starved or the necrotic energies of the planet caused them all to perish.
In case the defenses are ever breached, the armies of Dvuergr warriors would be ready to respond and push the enemy back or retreat further into further fortified positions and destroy the protective wards as they retreated.
This strategy of turning the planet's death attunement against any invading force has been highly effective but would likely not be so for any other species than the Dvuergr. It is only them that can see a life entirely underground as reasonable and enjoyable, even under war-times.

Blessed Fortress-Cities
Neter is a world held firmly by the Dvuergr. The mountains and the deep underground are dotted with Dvuergr fortress-cities: places of magnificent architecture that double as fortresses if they are ever attacked. The area around these fortress-cities is blesses by the priests of this civilization to keep the death-spirits away. A Fortress-World
