A star falls from the sky in the northwest of Ravil. This is ususally a sign of good fortune, as the impact crater will be full of valuable Riftstone which can be sold. However as a few entrepreneurial youths explore the impact crater, they find none of the covered arcane material- only death and worse.

The comet that fell upon the grasslands that day was a piece of debris infested by Outsiders. They left their home shortly after impact and begun to corrupt the local environment rapidly, twisting the flora and fauna to produce more of themelves. This lead to the event beign discovered by the city of Eifera, just a few weeks later as the first scouts of the spreading infection threw themselves agains the city walls.

Scholars correctly identified what was happening and the military forces of nearby cities sprang into action. The conflict was brutal and lasted for years, as the outsiders were seemingly endless.
Even after the area has been purged it still occasionally spawns monstrosities to this day and regular sweeps of the area are conducted to contain the spread. The corruption has seeped deep into the land and will not be dislodged by anything but a concerted effort.
