The War of Tyrants

Humanity was accepted as refugees by the Jotnar.
However at this time the Jotnar were already embroiled in their civilisation-consuming civil war, and humanity would not escape it for long.
indeed, after 23 years of relative safety, the jotnar that had sheltered humanity demanded that they aid the clan and defend their land.
The Humans agreed, willing to do anything to protect their loved ones.

However the Jotnar were not kind to the Humans. Over the course of the war they used them as disposable meat-shields, not caring for their lives at all.
Any humans that distinguished themselves only gave the Jotnar further motivation to exploit the humans for a war that was fundamentally not theirs.
Eventually humanity had enough and declared they would not longer be part of this ongoing disaster. This upset the Jotnar greatly and they attempted to force humanity back to the frontlines. This caused humanity to enter a full-blown revolution against the jotnar, a bloody conflict that is now known as the War of Tyrants.
