The Copenhagen Interpretation
The Copenhagen Interpretation is a system created by Jenifer Toksvig.
It's a process of involved live performance (a bit like 'playable theatre') presented across analogue, digital, and live performance platforms. And some little tiny games here and there.
'Copenhagen' has three main aims:
1) to build living, responsive ways to open up accessible story/worlds, so everyone can get involved in a way that is comfortable for them to access, within which...
1) ...to embrace all creative expression that contributes to the building, exploring, and understanding of our story/worlds, for the purpose of...
1) ...collectively deepening our connections with the story, with each other, and with ourselves in a supported environment
It is designed to be particularly accessible for neurodiverse audiences, especially for people with ADHD.
There are three core considerations to The Copenhagen Interpretation process. These are tools for how the space is held, which is a thing done by everyone who is involved in any way.
The first core consideration is Aspects
The second core consideration is Dynamics
The third core consideration is Intangibles
The second core consideration is Dynamics
The third core consideration is Intangibles
1) My friend Sung Il Ko once wrote a scene in which a character made a list
1) and numbered every item 'one' because they all seemed equally important.
1) It stayed with me, and I often do this now.
