Other Worlds
A brief alphabetical listing of some systems and worlds that have fallen outside the main concerns of the tales told so far on this site but receive at least a passing mention in one or more of the stories. Some of these may gain more attention at a later date and be promoted to have their own articles, but for now this is the little we know of them.
System/World | Notes |
---|---|
Alanon II | A small thinderin mining colony orbiting the white dwarf star Alanon. It lies inside the Bubble on ByRoute 18, not too far from the Hequidar System |
Aluregia IV | Lying beyond the borders of the Bubble in the barren reaches, Aluregia IV is an unremarkable virtually lifeless world circling a red dwalf star. In 58543 BCE it was briefly surveyed by the Counter Xarctic Traders who noted the presence of Cold Orbiter ruins. After the Bubble burst, it was surveyed again by the second Solar Group in 3550 and considered insignificant. That may not be true. |
Asamack | A dusty red world lying outside the Bubble and of historic interest as the symbolic location where the Asamack Response first openly declared their opposition to the Tetratic Empire around the year nine hundred thousand BCE (before the foundation of the society of contemporary races) |
Aspiration | A class A star just outside the Bubble with no significant companion bodies but regionally important as a navigation point. Together with Idris (the main star in the New Cambrian system), and Mandela it defines a plane, beyond which lies the barren reaches |
Blue Cola | Locally important trading port in the Solar Group close to the border with the Republic and the Nezah System |
Cellandine | Cellandine is the third moon of the gas giant Varaquoise II. Long after the Bubble burst, Cellandine was colonised in 3740 during the Ultimate Diaspora. In 3817 it suffered the misfortune of serving as the location for the final stand of The Prophet before the collapse of the Immaculate Dominion, a particularly bloody conclusion to a particularly bloody war. |
Dickens | Dickens is the name of a star which lies at the center of a system named after books and characters from the author's works. The giant planet Pickwick has a spectacular ring system and an icy moon called Jingle which was colonised in 2548. The human capital of Jingle is Gesteron and there is also a Viwodian colony uner the ice. It is a Republican system at the edge of the Bubble. |
Disam | A world in the barren reaches which is home to one of the CESPI |
Dranamol IV | An important loyalist Cata-Zin world in the Querequian Fall. |
Ealorim III | An important world for the Asamack Response which lies within the Querequian Fall. Suffered a major accidental and avoidable asteroid strike, which was one of several reasons for the final collapse of the Response. |
Erehwon II | A small, uninhabited dusty planet in the barren reaches where there are Cold Orbiter ruins which are known to have been abandoned long before the fall of the Empire of the Cold Orbit. |
Far Keld | The outermost of three planets orbiting the white dwarf star Keld, which is one of the closest systems to the spinward edge of the Bubble and reputed to lie less than twenty light years from a major Viwodian transport nexus in the wider querequian fall. Far Keld was the site of the first Watchtower to conduct systematic mapping operations of the precise border of the Bubble. |
Fuwing | An old Cata-Zin loyalist colony in the Jyncotax Halo which was the site of one of the more significant battles in the Cata-Zin Catastrophe |
Gamanum | A world in the barren reaches which is home to one of the CESPI. |
Gumtalax III | An important Cata-Zin archeological site at the far edge of the Jyncotax Halo where Anti-Syradell symbols have been found. |
Haven | Colonised in 2411. Part of the Solar Group. Home of the Blue Heron Press which publishes from the city of Little London. |
Helicon II | Independent world colonised in 2641 during a period of tension between the Solar Group and the Republic |
High Tumbler | A dwarf planet in the Tumbler system. Part of the Solar Group. It provides limited local facilities for extensive mining operations in the nearby asteroid belt which is rich in heavy metals. |
Jyratyl IX | A far future world, known only in distant ages long after the Bubble burst, Jyratyl IX was an Abragil world and the home of the Hive King. |
Keldarchon | Colonised in 2732 during the seventh dynasty of the resource management world government. Keldarchon is at the upper edge of the temperature limits that are tolerable for human life. It has a large moon, not quite as big as Luna is, in relation to Earth, but supporting a thin atmosphere and a thinderin colony. The cover image for the whole site, shows two solar group G-lift patrol class ships on the moon of Keldarchon with the planet in the sky above. |
Klatarnym VII | A Cata-Zin loyalist Syradell system in the Jyncotax Halo which was sterilised by Anti-Syradell forces in a notorious atrocity during the Cata-Zin Catastrophe |
Lirossema | A Cata-Zin Anti-Syradell stronghold in the Jyncotax Halo and the site of an important engagement in the Cata-Zin Catastrophe |
Low Glade | A thinderin world, lying beyond the borders of the Bubble in the Querequian Fall. Originally settled by speakers of thinderin quarternary and one of the two systems (along with Usaraxa) from which exiles fled to Silusia Alpha during the Third Forest Fire |
Malaquon | A Werm colony world just inside the borders of the Bubble. |
Mandela | A class F star on the border of the Bubble with five gas giant planets but only one icy solid body of any size lying far beyond the star's habitable zone. Together with Idris (the main star in the New Cambrian system), and Aspiration it defines a plane, beyond which lies the barren reaches |
Olympus | A small republican world, just dense enough to retain a thin breathable atmosphere. Largely desert with one spectacularly high mountain that is the result of an ancient impact, it lies between the Nezah System and Zephyr. The white flower called nymph's tears grows on the upper slopes of the mountain and the petals are harvested for their perfume. |
Om | A hot superearth in the Oberon system with a sparse and struggling native ecosystem. Home to a small scientific community which was established by the third resource management world government but conditions are too hostile for serious colonisation. The moon Om I is the subject of a particularly promising Genesis Project | Otherthorpe | A human colony world in the Barren Reaches, opened up after the end of the Limitation. Close to New Cambria. Home to the Simplicity Cult. |
Panaquon | Small republican world near Zephyr |
Pentamoss III | An Anti-Syradell Cata-Zin world in the Querequian Fall which was subjected to a Nova bomb in the closing stages of the Cata-Zin Catastrophe. |
Ptellic V | An ice giant world in the Jyncotax Halo where the oldest evidence for the earliest interstellar civilisation has been found in fossilised form wihin the "Old Bright Seam". Ptellic V may or may not be the homeworld of the culture that has been named the Bright Ones. |
Radeff | A Werm colony world in the barren reaches |
RingSide | Colonised in 2780, by a small utopian sect, RingSide is a tiny shepard moon orbiting close to an unusual vividly coloured ring system. RingSide was the last significant world to be colonised at the end of the Great Push. |
Ruby II | A human colony world in the Barren Reaches, opened up after the end of the Limitation. Close to New Cambria. |
Taculax | The home planet of the Werm lying not far outside the bubble in the anti-spinward direction within the region called the Old On Worlds. It orbits a red giant star called Ankaradin. |

Tekovess VIII | An important viwodian colony world on ByRoute 32, just beyond the coreward border of the Querequian Fall in the Jyncotax Halo. The Tekovess system is also the site of a historic battle in the Cata-Zin Catastrophe. | Thone II-IV | A world in the barren reaches which is home to one of the CESPI. Claims to have written material describing the fall of the Empire of the Cold Orbit although this is considered to be dubious. |
Tone IV | A human colonised world from a remote time in the very far future, long after the Bubble had burst. The massacre of Tone IV occured during the Long Jihad ( 1735 - 1791 G.V.) |
Tuesday's Drift | A young system characterised by a series of vast high density, dusty asteroid belts. Limited mining operations began here in 2451. It later became a Republican world. |
Trepalah | An important high population thinderin colony world. Said to lie not far beyond the boundaries of the bubble in the Querequian Fall. |
