The Right Of Champion

All gods, no matter their strength or how large their following, must follow the rule of champions. At the turning of the year a God may choose up to three Mortals to become their champions. A God can have up to three champions at a given time, they can choose to have less but can never have more. The same mortal can be chosen multiple time and it is not uncommon for an individual to be a champion for the rest of their life. If a god wishes to replace a champion before the turning of the year, the god can request that a mortal break their pact. Vice versa if a mortal wishes to end their time as champion they may request to end their time as champion. A champion is the highest of the divine ranks and comes with great benefits to any mortal who receives this honour.
