The Capital Isle

The Capital Isle is the central continent on the world of Asar. It is a land of wealth and prosperity with a long history of conflict. It's most recent conflict was caused by a supernatural event called The Convergence. When the planes of The Shadowfell and The Material Plane overlapped, the undead hordes pored through to wreak havoc on the living. The conflict cost the land its King and thousands of others, but when the Kings younger brother, Nervack, took the throne even more problems began to arise. He was completely unfit to rule and made several terrible decisions that cost countless lives. After his disastrous display of leadership control of the military was handed to Tempus' Legion. Though the followers of Tempus were successful in stopping the catastrophe, their later attempt to rekindle The War That Never Was caused warship of their god to be outlawed. This act caused some outrage and caused even more hate be aimed towards the crown.
Today there is still tension building against the new High King as he hides away from his duties ruling the land. As towns and cities search for leadership they turn towards the Masters of the capital city of Vaross. The Grand Master Dorwell Lyrum struggles to keep as many of the Isle's cities under control many are using the opportunity to become independent to one another. However with hidden threats gathering in the shadows people may have to put their differences aside and work together or risk falling back into darkness.
