Velerion Runesbane
Velerion Runesbane was an incredibly powerful spellcaster and former Dean of Mages at the The Marwind College. He was also believed to have founded The Eye.
Summary
Velerion was fabled throughout the realm as the ultimate master of the arcane. He was so blessed with arcane power that he was able to convince the Godess of magic, Mystra to imbue her power into an Aetherium Core. This became The Iris of Mystra and is the power source for the Eye.
In Literature
Many scholars still teach books written by the former Dean and his work is an endless source of inspiration for mages across the Isle.
