Hobgoblins

A goblinoid race created for the slave Caste, hobgoblins are bugbears that were re-engineered to appear more humanoid, and they are now the more common of the two. Unlike bugbears, hobgoblins can have children, and they are usually found used as soldiers by the government rather than owned by private slaveholders, although they are sometimes used by the particularly wealthy as bodyguards.
Hobgoblins are the same height as humans, but they tend to be burlier, with shorter legs and longer torsos. They have dark hair, broad noses, pointed ears, and skin in shades of orange, red and pink. Occasionally, a hobgoblin might have fur as a vestige of their bugbear ancestry.

Hobgoblin Names

Hobgoblins follow slave naming conventions when owned privately. Many hobgoblins in the army, however, are ascribed only rankings (e.g. 'Cavalry 332') and are referred to only in this manner.
