Chess
Cheshire Grimalson (a.k.a. Chess)
Chess is a powerful Fey creature that takes the form of a white, fluffy cat. While all ancient creatures the Dream Team have encountered speak of Chess like an old friend, he is known in a modern context as the leader of the Chessboard Conclave -- an infamous mercenary group full of legendary warriors.

Chess was born in an era before the universe that houses Golarion existed, and claims to be from a time and place so long past that even he has lost count. While he admits some familiarity with the First World, Chess would claim its not the same as his birthplace, and that the Eldest are children compared to the beings that came before them.
Although his age makes Chess difficult to place throughout history, Lockette knows that Chess was briefly inside the Mirror of Azlant, and worked with the Knights of Dawn. Public record places him all over the galaxy during the Gap, but any additional information was lost, and the Fey refuses to divulge his activities. All that the common folk know is that Chess emerged from the Gap with vast wealth, not only in plain credits, but also real estate, transport, and science investments.
Over the last three-hundred years, he has continued to collect his prizes, working primarily out of the Pact Worlds, making a name for himself as a cat who knows how to solve problems -- for good. He considers his greatest achievement the Chessboard Conclave, a select group of individuals personally trained by Chess, and the best mercenary group known among the stars. They are frequently a contractor of the Pact Council, and were integral in the war with the Vesk, before the Swarm forced them to focus on problems closer to home.
Access Beacon so fast? I think some of the Fey got a heads up on this whole Golarion thing... Too many of them moving too fast, like they were waiting for it.

When the Centurion published information on how to access Golarion, Chess and his mercenaries were one of the first teams to log in, and have been accessing the estranged planet ever since.
Intellectual Characteristics
Chess is known to be incredibly intelligent, often thinking a dozen levels deeper than the average mortal genius, and thousands of levels past the average layman. He has schemes upon schemes, countermeasures older than nations, and a playbook big enough for a terabyte hard drive.
As said by a Vesk general during the final days of their war with the Pact Worlds: "I would rather dive into a flurry of blades, than see my name in another one of his schemes..."

Contacts & Relations
In one of Mist's Dark Walker visions shared with the Dream Team (see The Wind Stills), Tommen claimed that Chess either works for or is on the same side as Rufus Geldenleaf, but didn't elaborate any further. It was later clarified by Chess that he personally wishes for Rufus to succeed (the continuation of the Entwined Infinities), but professionally believes that mortals should decide the fate of the universe.
Family Ties
While Chess' family information is not public, the Dream Team know that Chess is the father of Che, and thus the father-in-law of Ragarot. Ragarot claimed that Chess once had a wife, but that it didn't go well, and that Che was their only offspring.
Chess is Absy's uncle, so I see him infrequently. Usually at big parties. We try to avoid one another -- something about that guy just gets on my nerves.
Human, but I see no further evidence, and would thus caution acting on this as fact.
A small note in the archives claims that Chess' wife was
