Howling Wastes
The Howling Wastes form the border between the Mirror and the rest of the Other Side, and is a reflection of the Silence Between. As its name implies, the Wastes are natural source of the Howl, which obliterates most living matter that enters the plane, and wears at what is strong enough to remain. The landscape is full of corpses from creatures attempting the journey, which rot and contribute to a sickly, green miasma that floats on the incessant wind.
The Wastes are the primary reason the forces of Carnival do not regularly assault the Mirror, as expeditions across it are incredibly expensive, and result in a sizeable decrease in the army's original forces before they ever see combat.
