Scythe of Memory
This Scythe was given to Tesin Movahesh after she defeated the Spirit of the Well in combat, following the bylaws concerning fights between Deaths. In the hands of the Spirit, it appeared to be made of a gray metal, and was relatively simple in appearance. In the hands of Tesin, the Scythe manifests directly in the presence of her Solarion weapon, taking the same appearance as her sword, but with a hazy-gray outline that radiates the powers of death.
Powers & Abilities
- Reap (Passive, Constant): When the wielder lands the killing blow against a mortal creature using this Scythe, the enemy's Tether is cut in half (whether or not this was the wielder's intention), and the target's soul is sent to the Doors of Death for processing. If the wielder is a Death, they must immediately head to that location to process the soul, as per the natural laws of the universe. Otherwise, a Death is assigned to the soul by Pharasma, and the creature is ferried immediately after their Tether is cut. This ability works similarly on intelligent undead, phylacteries, or any other item that harbors a mortal soul.
- Raven's Missive (Full-Round, 1/Day): Looking into the blade of this Scythe, the wielder may consult the wisdom of the Boneyard, pulling from the knowledge of the dead in order to gain clarity about the future. In all other respects, this ability acts as the Divination spell, but does not cost a Resolve Point and always produces helpful answers.
- Bleeded Memory (Passive, Constant): Unlike other Scythes, when this Scythe successfully Reaps a soul, the wielder is infected with some of their most prominent memories, which gives some insight to the soul they've damned. This sensory information manifests instantly, attaching itself to the wielder's long-term memory. At the GM's discretion, the content of these memories may require a Sanity check, especially if the memory shows the visage of a creature from beyond the Outer Gates.
- Scyth-ic Surgery (Synergy Ability, Passive, Constant): When Tesin uses her Psychic Knives ability to infiltrate a creature's mind, she can choose to cut away a recent, harmful memory as one of her actions, which restores any Sanity damage caused by its recollection. A creature can only benefit from this ability once per week, and only works on memories they gained in the past seven days.
