Husterian Kingdom
The land of the chivalrous.
Considered the home of chivalry, the Kingdom of Huster is a beacon of Justice, Honor, and Valor. The land's many knights fight to protect the weak and save those in need, all in the name of this code. Through its many military conquests, the kingdom has become incredilby wealthy. Many of the neighboring estates have been forced to bend the knee in vassalization. It's a loose order, one that the kings of Huster struggle to maintain.
Structure
Ruled by the King and his advisors. The king is the highest source of authority in the kingdom. He created the laws and taxes, enforces them with the help of his many knights, and often acts as judge in cases of the highest level. Above all, the king holds control over the chivalric code. It is through him that knights can earn titles and honor within the realm. The king often rules through the use of proxy kingdoms, vassals who pledge allegiance and gold to the king. Next beneath the king is his appointed secretary of state. His roles and responsibilities are to handle logistical management of the kingdom. Budgeting, tax collection, managing the king's estate all are included in the position. After that, there are committees of advisors that perform various other jobs for the kingdom: committee of the military, committee of public health, committee of taxation, committee of foreign relations, committee of chivalry, and committee of religion.
Public Agenda
After the conclusion of the War of Rivals in 143 3E, the king has turned his attention to his vassals. During the long war with Devonyay the Brute, many of the vassals under the king rebelled and refuse to pay tribute in open defiance to the king.
History
The kingdom first came under rule of the House of Huster in 5977 2E following a successful rebellion from the Reinillian Empire. Under the rule of King Gastone, the chivalric code was established. He radically redefined the military order, imposing his vision of chivalry. Over the years, this code spread into the general populous, becoming integrated into every day life. At the turn of the era, the kingdom began a series of military campaign to expand Huster's territorial holdings. In 23 3E, King Radd I launched a successful campaign against the orcs of the Black Crag, adding it to the kingdom. In 138 3E, the orcs would later rebell against King Radd III von Huster in what would later be called the War of Rivals. Following his victory at the Battle of Sulley Bridge, King Radd III von Huster ended the war and reclaimed the lost territory for the kingdom.
