Village of Linval

Once described as "a sweet drop of honey rained from Heaven" by the Countess Bergliesee, Linval is a small and ancient village in the outer regions of the Husterian Kingdom . While once and apt description of the village, Linval is now more accurately described as the last brilliant ember of a long fire -- charming and beautiful still, but not long to breath life for much longer. Every year it would seem a new family packs their bags for greener pastures.   Of those still present, the villagers are mostly working class, taking on the forests, hills, and streams to make a living. While a handful of the residents work for the king, servicing national communication and the rail station. They produce enough to make an honest life, and it's position so close to the border provides a minimum of strategic import to the king. They serve loyaly, answering the call to war, yet one gets the since of isolationism and independence unlike anywhere else in Husteria.   According to local legend, the village was once blessed by the presence of a kind dryad, who would make fertile the land and friendly the animals. However, the evil of the villagers caused the dryad to hide deep within a grove. Perhaps disputes over the reality of this tale are all that consitutes for real discord among the villagers. Those who believe long to see her return and make Linval once more a rainy drop of honey.
