History
Within the
Nexus Continent, the country known as the
Caldera Regency is burderned by a great weight. Known as
The Gravity Well by its people, it is a environmental hazard local only to the region of the the
Caldera Regency.
Appearing haphazardly throughout any location that isn't within the peaks of a mountain or a Caldera is subjected to its disasters. From abrupt gravity pulls and shifts,
The Gravity Well can subjugate even the mightiest of warriors as they walk closer to the bottom. Within the depths lies a massive magical core that swells with
Mana.
Rippling the region with pulses of gravity magic, it prevents small critters and flora from inhabiting the local areas. Smaller creatures like the size of a rat do not often survive in this land. Many creatures in this region have been replaced with larger, more muscular-sized variants of their kind. While few in numbers and often live in solitary, these creatures are capable of withstanding lower intensities of the gravitational magic nearby.
Several intensities of
The Gravity Well exist. They are numerically scaled similarly to an earthquake's Ritcher Scale from 1 to 10. Only a handful of times have there been higher than a magnitude of 8. These events have caused many former civilizations, enclaves, and clans to be subjected to their demise.
Presently, only the
Caldera Regency has managed to survive a level 8 and level 9, but not without massive losses.
There are rumors which say that if a 10 were to ever occur, it would mean the end of the
Caldera Regency.
