The Academy of Arcane Medicine
The scholar and wizard Nymazar long believed that many of the technologies from the worlds from which Traith's growing population migrated from should not be lost. Among those advancements that should be preserved and perhaps augmented by usage of arcane magics was the practice medicine. Nymazar took it upon himself as he travelled the world to acquire as much of the knowledge and documentation on the fields and techniques of medicine form as many cultures and spices willing to share it as he could find. While expanding his own knowledge of medicine he used these travels to help educate others about his theories. After years of accumulating a repository of medical knowledge Nymazar set about compiling and translating it into one common source available the masses.
The Academy of Arcane Medicine was originally a branch of the bigger arcane university located in the city of Stremberthal. After many years of debating and deliberating the Society of Practitioners launched its first school dedicated to the research and development of arcane spells and practices that could be implemented in the field of arcane medicine.
Purpose / Function
To educate and train mages in the skills and traditions of the Med-mages and to treat patients who might otherwise have a grim prognosis.
History
First Age: The Academy was founded in the first age with much of the ground work being laid by the Grand Scholar Nymazar and his obsession with knowledge and education.
Second Age: In the second age the academy saw its first full medically based spell cast.

Tourism
People from all over Traith come to the Academy of Arcane Medicine to witness some of the many breakthroughs the Med-mages have achieved through the ages. Many of the visitors purchase books on how to use local herbs to treat different ailments among other souvenirs.
